The most common type of trailer, it can haul a variety of products, is enclosed and protected from the elements.   Designed to carry palletized, boxed or loose freight, dry vans aren't temperature-controlled.

 A refrigerated trailer or reefer, is for hauling perishables that need to be at a certain protected temperature during transport. Anything perishable or that requires a certain stable temperature can be hauled in a reefer. 

 The flat bed trailer is flat and has open sides and back, this allows the cargo to be loaded and unloaded from the sides or the back of the trailer without interference from the trailer itself.   

Power only loads offer carriers where there is just a tractor or power head the ability to transport freight without owning a trailer. This is generally an easy way to get started and up and running in the business.

 A box truck is a chassis cab truck with an enclosed box-shaped cargo area. The best freight uses include less-than-truckload (LTL) freight. Types of LTL freight include packages, pallets, parcels, furniture, perishables; hauling and delivery.
